You may have seen recent news broadcasts and newspaper articles describing the famine which Malawi is facing at the moment. The rains failed last season, giving a very poor maize harvest. Timely warnings about the consequences of this were announced, but largely fell on deaf ears. Now, with the earthquake in Pakistan affecting so many people and capturing the world's attention, Malawi could so easily be overlooked – and become a quiet tragedy.

I have received an e-mail from friends in Malawi giving the current situation: follow this link for the full text.

Please think and pray about what your reponse could be.
